TOAST IS

We are a paninoteca, or authentic Italian sandwich shop, much like those found in the towns and cities throughout Italy. We are inspired by the Italian tradition of simple cooking using seasonal, local ingredients and pairing them with cured meats and cheeses from Italy to create delicious sandwiches, soups, and salads.

PROPRIETORS

After years of experience in fine-dining restaurants, Kelli and Billy Cotter, longtime Durham residents, were eager to welcome back a vibrant downtown. So in 2008, the husband-and-wife team decided to go casual, opening Toast, an Italian sandwich shop, with Billy running the kitchen and Kelli the front of the house.
